Holo Excerpt – Closet

She dragged herself out of bed and looked at the clock on the COM. It read 09:00. She wasn’t too late getting up. She smiled, realizing she wouldn’t ever have to go to school and be forced to learn things that were seemingly meaningless now. Any future knowledge could be installed by one of the virtual mall shops directly into the HoloNet.

She went to her closet and opened up the control panel next to it. She scrolled through the pairings, which were very similar in nature to the way the menus for meals were presented. When she had decided upon a suitable outfit, she pressed the buttons, almost as if she was adding it to a cart. Sounds of moving equipment could be heard from behind the door and then a chime rang out. The door opened up and Morgan saw her assembled outfit on a solitary hanger.

April Sadowski was born and raised in the Dayton, Ohio area. Books were always prevalent in her life and so was the fondness for writing. At the age of thirteen, April began her first novel, Lady From Day. It took over ten years to write, but since the completion of it in 2009, she has written four additional novels and has participated in NaNoWriMo, Camp NaNoWriMo, and Script Frenzy, “winning” at every attempt. April is also an award-winning graphic and website designer and a hemp jewelry maker. She spends her free time (apart from writing) with her husband and three meowing fur-children.
